Job summary

Equinix is seeking a world-class Senior Director of Network Platform Engineering to define how one of the world’s most interconnected digital infrastructure platforms is designed, built, and evolved.

This executive will lead the architecture, design, technology selection, and validation of Equinix’s global network across the full interconnection stack, from optical transport and Metro Connect to software-defined Equinix Fabric® and Fabric Cloud Router.

Qualifications

• 15+ years designing, building, or operating large-scale global networks.
• Direct experience with a major public cloud provider or hyperscale carrier.
• Deep expertise in optical networking, DWDM/OTN, IP/MPLS, BGP, SD-WAN, and interconnection.
• Proven track record defining architecture and strategy for mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong executive presence and experience engaging senior customers, boards, and partners.
• Ability to translate product and business strategy into scalable architecture and roadmaps.
• Ability to influence across Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, and Commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Define the future of the Equinix network and own end-to-end architecture.
• Set strategy across optical transport, fabrics, SDN, automation, and AI-enabled interconnection.
• Lead and build a world-class architecture organization of engineers and PMs.
• Translate product vision into secure, resilient, scalable network designs for global scale.
• Engage customers and industry leaders to align architecture with market needs.
