Job summary

Samsung Electronics America (SEA) seeks a role focused on expatriate support, onboarding, and related services in Plano, Texas. The position involves collaborating with NA SSC HR to assist expats and coordinate pre-boarding, onboarding, housing, and visa matters.

Responsibilities include concierge services, onboarding orientations, event planning for expats, and ongoing communications on subsidies and relocation. Onsite work and travel up to 10% are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 2 years of related experience with a Master's Degree.
• Knowledge of Korean business culture, etiquette, and practices is a plus.
• Experience in administering corporate policies at the individual level.
• Strong interpersonal verbal and written skills; essential for client-facing relationships.

• Provide ORIENTATION AND ONBOARDING SUPPORT to expats, including housing assistance.
• Support as EVENT PLANNER to coordinate year-round expat events and seminars.

• Maintain ongoing communications with expats regarding subsidies, visa, housing, and related matters.
• Conduct expat orientation and assist with forms, banking, housing, and visa questions.
• Provide expat wind-down support and transition-related tasks.
• Own expat data management and reporting to C-suite.

Role and Responsibilities

As a foreign headquartered organization, we have individuals who are working in the Americas on expatriate assignment from Korea and other countries. In North America Shared Service Center (NA SSC HR), we are responsible for providing a full range of support services to all expatriates (expats) and foreign nationals within the organization in USA. This individual will be required to communicate daily with all levels of expats while liaising with the North America Regional Office to provide support of their pre-boarding/onboarding/and offboarding in USA.

• Provide CONCIERGE SERVICES to Expats for their US onboarding to support ONSITE APPEARANCE to facilitate US Govt Doc such as DMV, SSA, USCIS, Bank, etc.
• Provide ORIENTATION AND OTHER ONBOARDING SUPPORT to expats upon arrival, including assistance with housing and other personal matters
• Support as EVENT PLANNER TO FACILITATE AND COORDINATE YEAR-ROUND EVENTS for expats including in-house or external seminars and recreation activities
• Review and prepare expats pre-boarding planning system
• Maintain on-going communications with expats regarding various subsidies, visa, housing and any other matters that they may require assistance
• Review and process internal administration in NA database. Troubleshoot relevant issues as necessary.
• Conduct individual orientation for new expats to explain for the completion of required forms, opening of bank accounts, housing, onboarding, VISA examiner questions,
• Prepare organization and external service providers for the arrival of expats
• Provide active support to departing expats related to their wind-down in the US
• Provide support to expatriates as required and as requested
• Proactively seek out ways in which to improve the expatriate experience
• Own the transition process from US to Suwon, Korea support and related ad-hoc as necessary
• Primary back-up for all expat related matters including but not limited to I-9 support, onboarding, benefits, transition, relocation, mobility program, and data management
• Conduct regularly scheduled training to TA population for expat matters
• Own expat data management and reporting to C-suite

Skills and Qualifications

• Working independently and able to manage reprioritization of tasks/events/commitments quickly based on contract, client, and business situations.
• Highly skilled at prioritization, planning, working independently all within standard policies and business standards.
• 2+ years of Direct Experience, Legal assistance experience is a plus
