Job summary

Spacelabs Healthcare is seeking a Sr. Software Manager to lead global software engineering teams delivering a new patient monitoring system and enhancements to medical devices.

This hybrid role requires onsite collaboration at the Snoqualmie, WA facility three or more days per week. The role demands cutting‑edge software design, strong leadership, and experience with IEC 62304, Agile methods, and cross‑functional coordination with PMs, hardware, QA, and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's preferred.
• 5+ years of medical device software development experience.
• 5+ years leading a software engineering team of 7–10 engineers.
• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java; cross‑platform development.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee activities of a distributed, global software engineering team.
• Design, implement, and test software for medical device products.
• Architect and release scalable cross‑platform next‑gen software.
• Lead software system testing procedures (unit, functional, automated).
• Define group charter, core competencies, and staff training.
• Maintain infrastructure (tools/processes) for group success.
• Define coding guidelines, design reviews, and unit test frameworks.
• Prepare documents for regulatory compliance (IEC 62304).
• Conduct design reviews; manage FMEA and technical risk.
• Oversee software/firmware integration and system verification.
• Establish software change, configuration, and release procedures.
• Coordinate integration from global teams for hardware platforms.
