Job summary

BW Converting seeks a Global Platform Commodity Leader: Mechanical to drive the global strategy for mechanical components across sites. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, operations, finance, or related field.
• Significant progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, or supplier management in manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing mechanical components, machined parts, fabrications, or related industrial products.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations across multiple locations or business units.
• Demonstrated success delivering cost reductions using total-cost-of-ownership principles.
• Experience in global or matrixed manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience supporting complex machinery, capital equipment, or high-mix manufacturing is preferred.
• Professional supply chain, procurement, Lean, or Six Sigma certification is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global mechanical commodity strategy across BW Converting sites.
• Lead supplier selection, development, performance evaluation, and strategic reviews with cross-functional teams.
• Negotiate long-term agreements, pricing, rebates, terms, and warranties.
• Drive productivity, cost-out, inflation mitigation, and working-capital improvements via TCO.
• Identify opportunities through supplier consolidation, bidding, localization, and value engineering.
• Collaborate with Finance to validate savings and provide commodity outlooks and risks.
• Partner with site Buyers and Engineers to implement platform strategies while preserving local execution.
• Support component standardization and early supplier involvement in new product development.
• Identify and mitigate supplier, geopolitical, tariff, and logistics risks.
• Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on progress and decisions.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
