Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc is seeking a Global Commodity Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier relationships across worldwide operations. You will own commodity strategy, engage cross-functionally to drive value, and manage supplier performance to improve cost, quality and risk profiles.

Ideal candidates have a track record in strategic sourcing, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to travel internationally up to 30% while guiding multi-team initiatives across the supply base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• 6 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, supplier quality or operational management.
• Ability to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 30% of the time.
• Demonstrated skills in cost reduction and bidding techniques to maximize value.
• Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers.
• Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity and quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Champion supplier development and quarterly business reviews.
• Define and communicate the commodity strategy.
• Ensure procurement compliance with regulations and standard practices.
• Evaluate suppliers to improve service levels and total cost.
• Negotiate Master Supply Agreements for maximum value and high inventory turns.
• Optimize supply chain from suppliers to customers with lead time reduction.
• Lead cross-functional teams on quality, price, inventories and availability.
• Report on supplier/commodity market analysis and trends.
• Participate in supplier quality audits and update supplier scorecards.
