Job summary

Knight Piésold invites applicants to join its Summer 2027 Internship program in Colorado. Interns will gain real-world mechanical engineering experience on mining, water resources, and hydropower projects, under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This internship offers mentorship, exposure to industry-standard software and practices, opportunities to work across North America and internationally, and a pathway to develop technical and communication skills in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Junior/senior year or graduate studies encouraged to apply.
• Strong interest in developing engineering and technical skills in a consulting environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in applying mechanical engineering principles to develop safe, economical, and innovative design solutions.
• Assist with technical analyses, calculations, and modeling, including pump/pipe systems, rheology evaluations, CFD, and 3D layout modeling.
• Assist in the development of engineering drawings including plans and specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning, design, and execution.
