Job summary
Actalent in Woburn, MA seeks a proven purchasing and supply chain professional to support production planning and procurement activity. You will execute POs, manage MRP requirements, and partner with planning, warehousing and manufacturing to optimize material flow.
The role emphasizes continuous improvement, Kanban/VMI adoption, and participation in Kaizen events. Onsite, contract-to-hire, with competitive hourly compensation and benefits for eligible roles.
Qualifications
- MRP planning and purchasing to support production activities.
- Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering or related field.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge; CSCP/CPIM certifications desirable.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily Gemba walks and production meetings.
- Review MRP requirements and execute purchase orders/releases.
- Release material to manufacturing based on planning data.
- Assist with expedited POs and expedite report updates.
- Collaborate with planning, purchasing, warehousing and manufacturing.
- Implement visual ordering systems (VMI/Kanban) where practical.
- Contribute to Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis.
- Perform other duties to support Operations and Supply Chain.
