Job summary

3M is seeking a Master Data Management Operations Manager to lead MD(MDM) strategy and align priorities across enterprise objectives. You will translate long‑term goals into actionable plans and guide leadership with executive‑level materials.

You will work closely with MDM leadership and functional leaders to derive insights, manage budgets, and drive cross‑functional collaboration in Maplewood, MN onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, Operations, Data Science (completed and verified prior to start)
• Seven (7) years of experience in business operations, consulting, master data management in a private, public, government or military environment
• Master’s degree in business administration or related discipline is a plus
• Ten (10) or more years of experience in business operations, consulting, master data management or a related field
• Experience working in a matrixed, global organization
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience interpreting data and turning insights into recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating presentations for senior leaders
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across functions and organizational levels

Responsibilities

• Ensure 3M derives value from Master Data.
• Partner with 3M MDM and 3M functional leaders to develop and refine strategic priorities, annual plans, and multi‑year roadmaps.
• Conduct internal and external analysis to identify trends, risks, opportunities, best practices, and business implications affecting Master Data Management.
• Support strategic initiative planning, including scope definition, milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
• Develop executive‑ready presentations, reports, and briefing materials for leadership reviews and planning sessions.
• Track progress against strategic goals and key performance indicators, highlighting risks and recommending corrective actions where needed.
• Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration to ensure alignment across 3M teams, stakeholders, and enterprise priorities.
• Support budgeting and resource planning discussions by connecting investments to strategic objectives.
• Perform scenario analysis and provide insights to support decision‑making on organizational priorities and strategic trade‑offs.
• Assist with special projects and initiatives as required.
