Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Director of Marketing Technology & Data Operations to lead and scale the global MarTech and data function. You will define vision, governance, and an operating model for technology and data across Marketing, Digital, IT, and Finance, driving growth and innovative customer experiences.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing Operations, you will shape roadmaps, vendor management, and ROI analyses while building a scalable foundation for AI, measurement, and personalization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Marketing Technology, Marketing Operations, Data Operations, or related areas.
• Strong leadership with experience building high‑performing enterprise teams.
• Experience leading enterprise MarTech and data strategy, governance, and programs.
• Understanding of modern marketing tech ecosystems including CRM, web platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the marketing technology strategy and roadmap aligned to business goals.
• Lead governance, data strategy, and operations for marketing data across global teams.
• Build and lead a global marketing technology and data team.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to align data requirements, platforms, and architecture.
• Drive innovation, AI adoption, experimentation, and platform optimization.
• Manage investments, vendor relationships, and cost optimization.
• Establish standards and operating procedures for technology governance and rollout.
