Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing market surveillance programs within a financial services or investment banking environment.
• Understanding of market surveillance risks, trading activities, transaction flows, and market abuse typologies across financial products.
• Knowledge of market manipulation, insider trading, and other forms of market misconduct.
• Experience assessing, testing, and optimizing surveillance models, monitoring scenarios, and alert-generation processes.
• Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex trading data, identify suspicious patterns, and evaluate surveillance effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring market activities continuously to identify irregularities.
• Conducting in-depth investigations into market manipulation or misconduct.
• Business support in projects related to the firm’s market surveillance framework.
• Regulatory query and internal/external audit support.
• Provision of accurate and timely reports to regulatory authorities, internal stakeholders, and management.
• Execution of appropriate controls aligned to the Barclays control framework.
