Job summary

Work Industries is seeking a Buyer to support the launch of U.S. manufacturing operations in Charlotte. You will source electrical and mechanical components, manage RFQs, negotiate with suppliers, and build a reliable domestic supply base while collaborating with engineering and global procurement teams.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial purchasing, familiarity with technical drawings, and ERP/MRP experience. Occasional travel to Germany is involved; US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years in purchasing/procurement/sourcing in industrial manufacturing or related technical environment.
• Experience buying electrical and/or mechanical components.
• Familiarity with technical drawings, specs, BOMs, and engineering docs.
• Experience with RFQs, pricing, lead times, delivery, and material requirements.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with multiple priorities.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineering, operations, production, and global teams.
• ERP/MRP experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase electrical and mechanical components for custom equipment.
• Develop U.S. supplier base and manage supplier relationships.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate quotations, support pricing and negotiations.
• Create and manage purchase orders, monitor pricing and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering and production to meet specs and requirements.
• Communicate with domestic and international suppliers on pricing, delivery, quality.
• Assist with supplier performance and address cost/delivery issues.
• Monitor material requirements and potential shortages or long lead times.
• Support inventory, production planning, and project schedules.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate supplier, purchasing, pricing, and material data in systems.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed, including Germany training.
