Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  • Create contracts and keep customers/brokers informed of the order status.
  • Request and collect necessary documentation and details from customers to avoid delays.
  • Schedule shipments in alignment with customer requirements and production timelines.
  • Coordinate and confirm trucking and freight appointments with carriers and customers.
  • Book freight through shipping lines or freight forwarders and confirm all arrangements.
  • Enter and process shipping and trucking instructions using SAM and the Grower Direct Portal.
  • Prepare and file AES and shipping instructions; verify accuracy of Bills of Lading.
  • Schedule and prepare for Phytosanitary inspections as required.
  • Ensure all export requirements are met, including COAs, Phyto, and treatments.
  • Generate and review all required shipping documents ensuring accuracy: invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipment releases, pallet tags, special BL instructions, etc.
  • Prepare bank drafts and letters of credit when necessary.
  • Distribute final documentation packets to customers, brokers, and banks promptly.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical documentation files.
  • Research documentation requirements for destination countries and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate domestic and import inbound shipments when necessary.
  • Provide support for brokerage business.
  • Maintain off-site shipments and accurate inventory records.
  • Assist the scale house and shipping department with any inquiries about a container/shipment that they may have.
  • Follows and ensures adherence to established Grower Direct Nut Co., local, state, and federal regulations and requirements as well as food safety, sanitation, food production and nutritional guidelines.
  • Establishes and ensures adherence to procedures and standards which agree with these regulations, requirements and guidelines.
  • Follow up with internal teams and operations to ensure that production and logistics activities align with overall schedule deadlines.
  • Collaborate to proactively address any potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Cross train between domestic and export desk to give a more versatile approach.

Job Title: Global Logistics Specialist (Onsite)

Payrate: $25.00-$30.00, DOE

Department: Logistics

Report To: Logistics Supervisor

Working Hours: 8:00AM- 4:30PM, Schedule may vary depending on company needs

JOB SUMMARY

The Global Logistics Specialist reports to the Logistics Supervisor and is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of shipments, ensuring timely and cost-efficient delivery of goods from the point of origin to final destinations. This role includes overseeing documentation, compliance with international regulations, customs processes, and managing communication between vendors, freight forwarders, and customers. The Global Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in streamlining processes, ensuring high standards of customer service, and contributing to the overall success of supply chain operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide timely and professional customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  • Create contracts and keep customers/brokers informed of the order status.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms.
  • Will frequently sit and occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl.
  • Must use both hands for rapid mental muscular coordination, simultaneously.
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Must lift with arms up to floor to waist, waist to shoulder 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to constantly stand/stoop/walk/bend, up to 12 hrs.
  • Ability to strenuous flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently (15 flexion/minute).
  • Use of keyboard and mouse for extended period.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in domestic and export logistics, freight forwarding, or international trade operations.
