Job summary

Allied Steel Buildings in Texas is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead shipping, transportation, and logistics for our PEMB manufacturing operations across North America. You will ensure on-time delivery of fabricated steel, components, and materials while coordinating with Production, Project Management, and carriers.

The role emphasizes load planning, carrier relationships, compliance, and cost control, with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in logistics/operations within manufacturing or heavy industry.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3 years of leadership in logistics, shipping, or material handling.

Responsibilities

Coordinate daily with Production Managers, Project Managers, and Shipping to ensure PEMB components are shipped per schedules.
Develop shipment schedules aligned with fabrication and final assembly dates.
Coordinate load sequencing so materials arrive at job sites in proper order for erection.
Develop load plans maximizing trailer utilization with safety and compliance.
Review production schedules to identify risks impacting delivery commitments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on shipment requirements and constraints.
Utilize Strumis and other systems to manage shipment status and inventory.
Provide regular shipment status updates and delivery information.
Establish and maintain relationships with freight brokers and carriers for reliable service and pricing.
Investigate shipping discrepancies and determine root causes for corrective actions.
Ensure all shipping documents and packing lists are accurate and complete.
