Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking a Global Logistics Manager to oversee day-to-day trucking logistics, including dispatch planning, load sequencing, and handling overweight and hazmat shipments.

Based in Phoenix, AZ or Westborough, MA, the role focuses on coordinating cross-country movements, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and cost-efficient operations for battery storage projects. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of freight forwarding experience, strong negotiation

Qualifications

• 7+ years in freight forwarding operations
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and Hazmat requirements
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Experience leading logistics workflows and KPI analysis
• Preferred: battery energy storage system experience
• Strategic thinking and cost-efficiency focus
• Relationship management across stakeholders and suppliers
• Risk assessment and proactive mitigation in logistics

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end trucking logistics operations, including dispatch planning, load sequencing, and handling overweight and HAZMAT shipments
• Oversee the process for awarding loads to truckers based on route suitability, permits, safety history, and performance
• Develop and maintain a tracking system for all truckers and shipments with real-time visibility and exception management
• Establish and monitor KPIs for each delivery and implement standardized reporting
• Collaborate with Corporate Logistics on project-specific bid requests and trucking involvement
• Support Legal to negotiate terms for master contracts with freight forwarders and warehouses/crane yards
• Manage relationships with carriers, freight partners, and 3PLs to ensure capacity and regulatory compliance
• Resolve delays, disruptions, or compliance issues quickly and effectively
• Monitor logistics costs and identify efficiency improvements in trucking operations
• Develop pre-shipment trucking inspection processes at crane yards for batteries and project components
• Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous routing and carrier optimization
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to align delivery schedules and site readiness
• Guide logistics operations to uphold workflows and performance standards
