Job summary

Samaritan's Purse in Boone, NC is seeking a Specialist, Intl Operations to support Operation Christmas Child. The role involves managing a global network of clearing agents and leading meetings to ensure coordinated destination processes and effective international ministry partnerships.

The position requires overseeing OK to Ship/import analyses across many countries, driving cost containment, and expediting shipments to support the ministry's mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in freight forwarding or international shipping; 3–5 years' experience preferred
• Problem-solving in international shipping, taxes/duties and customs
• Advanced Excel proficiency with pivot tables
• Knowledge of ocean carrier documentation and import processes
• Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills
• Financial acumen in budget analysis and cost containment
• Project management knowledge and execution abilities
• Biblical Studies coursework or commitment to complete 12 credits if needed

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a global network of 100+ clearing agents and leading pre- and post-import meetings
• Consolidating meeting outcomes into executive summaries to inform leadership decisions
• Leading OK to Ship and OK to Import analyses across 100+ countries
• Providing guidance on trade lane costs, carrier selection, and routing for OCC distribution
• Evaluating carrier concessions, service failures, and duty-exoneration outcomes
• Developing export operations tools and providing on-site leadership during seasonal operations
• Other duties as assigned
