Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP seeks a Practice Group Manager - Litigation to serve as the primary administrative manager for the Global Litigation Practice Group. The role partners with practice leaders, office leadership, and key departments to advance strategy, operations, and talent across offices.

The PGM will drive consistency, efficiency, and collaboration, coordinate with PATs, and implement firmwide initiatives while overseeing budgets and onboarding for lateral hires and clerks.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and five to seven years of legal practice or comparable law firm management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Scheduling Tools, and related apps.
• Strong presence in high-complexity, time-constrained environments.
• Skilled at negotiating and managing conflicts; client-service focused.
• Flexible in adapting to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with office chairs and fellow managers to promote consistency across offices.
• Foster communication among Global Practice Leaders and administrative teams.
• Create customized reporting for a holistic view of the Litigation practice.
• Develop and implement strategic business plans and priorities.
• Analyze metrics, dashboards, and staffing reports to guide decisions.
• Coordinate with Marketing, KM and Revenue Management leads on initiatives.
• Develop budgets with Litigation leadership and manage allocations.
• Prepare materials for internal meetings and partner sessions.
• Define hiring needs, facilitate lateral hiring and onboarding.
