Qualifications

• 15+ years of post-qualification experience in a major law firm or corporation, with demonstrated experience leading significant litigation or arbitration matters.
• Experience managing disputes across multiple jurisdictions; cross-border litigation and international arbitration experience preferred.
• Experience in the chemical, energy or engineering industry is preferred.
• Strong leadership, management, coaching, communication, and executive-advisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead global litigation strategy and oversight for the company’s litigation and arbitration docket across regions, businesses, functions, and jurisdictions.
• Analyze complex factual, legal, commercial, technical, and strategic issues in disputes globally with senior stakeholders.
• Prepare and present litigation analyses, reports, and recommendations to senior legal leadership and executives.
• Coordinate with regional leaders to identify trends and opportunities to improve dispute prevention and readiness.
• Retain and manage outside counsel globally to drive case strategy and budget controls.
• Develop and implement global litigation governance and matter-management practices aligned with company policies.
• Serve as the primary global litigation resource for pre-dispute matters, active disputes, investigations, and cross-border risk.
• Deliver proactive, consistent litigation advice to internal business clients and leadership.
• Lead, coach, and develop litigation attorneys and staff; act as a senior resource for complex matters.
