Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Group Lean Leader to drive lean transformations across global operations. You will lead Value Stream Coaches, partner with operations to speed delivery, quality, and productivity, and advance the Wabtec Management System.

You will coach executives in lean principles, Hoshin Kanri, and problem solving, while developing corporate standards and training materials to sustain standard work across the organization. Occasional office/site work and up to 75% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Lean Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or other related field from an accredited university
• Minimum ten additional years of experience leading teams in a lean transformation across the organization
• Deep faith in lean and its principles with a track record leading TPS-type transformation
• Strong oral and written communication and leadership skills
• Clear thinker capable of resolving complex problems
• Proven ability to lead programs/projects with stakeholder buy-in in a matrix environment
• Extensive experience leading cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams with mentoring and coaching
• Ability to travel up to 75%

Responsibilities

• Be an engaged business partner to Operations leadership and implement lean vision to improve customer experience through cycle time and delivery improvements
• Deliver performance excellence through execution of lean initiatives and coaching of standard work and problem solving
• Support lean plans across functional teams to improve customer experience and drive global metrics
• Coach executives in lean methodology and problem solving (Hoshin Kanri)
• Support global lean implementation including standards, training, kaizen workouts, and after-action reviews
• Develop and sustain standard operating procedures and lean training materials
• Develop and improve the Wabtec Management System as a trusted operating framework
• Perform other duties as needed
