Job summary

MetLife’s Global Technology team seeks a hands-on technical leader to design and deliver large-scale applications. You’ll stay involved in design, development, debugging, and performance tuning while providing governance across multiple development teams.

The role emphasizes API design in OpenAPI, microservices in Java, and cloud-native CI/CD pipelines with Spring Cloud. Hybrid work requires three in-office days per week in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology with 5 years of web-scale app design.
• 5 years of experience in Java and/or Node.js.
• 2 years of experience in React.
• Experience designing enterprise APIs and OpenAPI specs; microservices in Java.
• Spring Cloud and DevOps pipelines for CI/CD in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement large, complex projects at global scale with cross-system integration.
• Collaborate with business/IT to design distributed applications and document APIs.
• Design, code, test, and monitor programs; ensure efficient operation of systems.
• Review and modify systems, including testing, debugging, and installation for large-scale deployments.
• Provide technical governance and support across project lifecycles and teams.
• Provide governance to ensure standards and best practices across development teams.
