Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Sr. Global Process Engineer - Kiln/Firing SME to lead firing process engineering globally from Hillsboro, OR. You will own the development and transfer of firing technologies, guiding equipment installation, commissioning, and safety across sites.

The role requires 5+ years in thermal processing, experience with high-temperature ceramics, vacuum furnaces a plus, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Regular travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Ceramic Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus.
• Project Management certification a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience (preferably process engineering) and thermal processing of materials.
• Experience in high temperature firing of ceramics.
• Experience with Vacuum furnaces a plus.
• Experience commissioning equipment for large capital projects.
• Diverse technical background including mechanical, electrical and materials engineering.

Responsibilities

• Solve complex firing process issues and optimize related equipment.
• Interface with firing equipment manufacturers from specification to implementation.
• Provide technical guidance on projects across the organization.
• Execute technology transfers to meet production requirements.
• Lead plant engineering teams and cross-functional collaborations.
• Improve efficiencies and yield through Lean/Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
