Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is seeking an IP Patent Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property team and assist attorneys with sophisticated patent prosecution matters in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and knowledgeable about patent rules and deadlines.

This role can be based in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Nashville, TN; or Washington, DC. The team emphasizes collaboration and efficient case management across offices.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies; or a related degree with paralegal training.
• Bachelor’s with unrelated major plus paralegal certification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of Patent IP paralegal experience.
• Experience with docketing software (CPiDocketing, CPI) and with PracticeLink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist, prepare, and file legal documents with USPTO and other offices for PCT and national entries.
• Stay up to date on filing requirements in USPTO and international offices.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel on international applications, registrations, renewals, and notices.
• Prepare and file IDS, review patent families, and file with USPTO.
• Complete client checklists to ensure all documents are filed.
