Job summary

Virtu Financial is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join our global security team. You will perform security assessments, design and coordinate with IT teams to mitigate risks, and gain exposure to breach detection, user behavior analytics, and security automation.

Responsibilities include deploying security solutions, staying ahead of threats in financial services, and supporting secure CI/CD practices. A bachelor’s degree and 4–5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 4–5 years in Information Security Engineering; IT background a plus.
• Strong understanding of Threat and Vulnerability Management and Mitigation.
• Experience with Windows and Unix fundamentals.
• Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for security automation.
• Experience with Active Directory or other directory services.
• Security event and incident management experience.
• Good prioritization and ability to switch tasks on multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Crypto knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and deploy security solutions including vulnerability management, anti-malware, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, network flow technologies, and user behavior monitoring.
• Stay current on emerging threats in financial services; requires self-motivation and passion for information security.
• Support application security initiatives through static analysis, dependency management, and secure CI/CD practices.
