Job summary

Virtu Financial in New York seeks an Information Security Engineer to join our global security team. You will perform security assessments, design and implement controls, and coordinate with IT to mitigate risks across breach detection, identity, and vulnerability management.

Exposure includes breach detection, user behavior analytics, vulnerability management, and security automation within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 4-5 years in Information Security Engineering; IT background is a plus.
• Strong Understanding of Threat and Vulnerability Management and Mitigation.
• Understanding and experience with Windows and Unix operating system fundamentals.
• Scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for security automation and tool development.
• Experience with Active Directory (or other directory services).
• Security event and incident management.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Experience with Crypto is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, design, and deploy security solutions including vulnerability management, anti-malware, IDS/IPS, SIEM systems, network flow technologies, and user behavior monitoring
• Stay current on emerging threats in financial services; requires self-motivation and passion for information security
• Support application security initiatives through static analysis, dependency management, and secure CI/CD practices
