Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Less than one year related experience.
• Credentials: Professional certification may be required in some areas.
• Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications; Accurate typing or data entry; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Characteristics: Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs; problem solving within policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; advise on shipment details and provide quotations.
• Arrange, book, and confirm space on flights, freight, cargo, and other transportation methods.
• Prepare and complete documentation for receipt or processing of shipments.
• Process documents in the system in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
• Secure necessary documentation when information is incomplete; conduct first reviews as needed.
• Trace key transaction information (HBL, commercial invoice, etc.) and create tracking files for clearance.
• Follow up with carriers, manage pre-alerts daily, and maintain communications records.
• Coordinate and communicate release to carrier or customer.
