Job summary

Moderna seeks a senior HVAC/mechanical engineer to lead design and optimization of systems for critical facilities and labs. This on-site role requires deep expertise in HVAC, sustainability, and regulatory compliance across international projects.

You will mentor engineers, drive energy-efficient designs, and partner with Quality/Validation on documentation, while aligning with FDA/EMA expectations. A PE license and LEED/WELL familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in HVAC and mechanical engineering with a focus on sustainability.
• Deep technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems from design through operation.
• Experience managing large-scale international projects.
• PE license required; LEED or WELL preferred.
• GxP/GMP training; knowledge of FDA/EMA/ICH regulations.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments.
• Site-based role; on-site at Moderna site; not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of HVAC and mechanical systems for high-profile projects with energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Act as SME in HVAC, mechanical engineering, and sustainability; guide complex technical challenges.
• Drive adoption of innovative technologies to improve system performance and sustainability.
• Oversee design, construction, and operation of critical facilities including international sites.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Develop and implement standardized engineering practices across global sites.
