Job summary

Lilly, a global leader in medicines, is building a new manufacturing site in Houston and seeks an experienced HSE professional to lead contractor safety management and site safety programs. This role will transition to site HSE operations to support manufacturing after construction and commissioning.

You will partner with Global HSE and project teams, ensure compliance with 29 CFR 1926, oversee PTW systems, conduct field audits, and drive safety performance across capital projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE experience with 29 CFR 1926 construction exposure.
• Direct experience supporting contractor safety management programs and permit-to-work systems.
• Experience with OSHA regulations, risk management, and safe work permitting.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical field procedures.
• Experience supporting contractor lifecycle processes (prequalification, onboarding, field oversight, performance evaluation).
• Physically capable of navigating diverse construction environments and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Support CSMP and relationship with Safety Advisor(s) and partners.
• Act as SME for department HSE documents and standards.
• Coach project teams in CSMP compliance.
• Lead project safety orientation aligned with standards and trends.
• Address environmental permits and local regulations.
• Oversee field application of CSMP and conduct training.
• Lead investigations and RCA of incidents.
• Collaborate with Global HSE to align with corporate priorities.
