Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support the Research & Development organization’s Security, Privacy, and Trust teams. The role requires partnering with engineering leadership across time zones to shape talent strategy, drive organizational design, and advance performance management.

You will coach leaders, manage complex employee relations, and collaborate with global CoEs to tailor compensation, engagement, and recruitment solutions that attract top technical talent

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR experience, with 2+ years as an HR Business Partner.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin for APAC stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Security, Privacy, or Trust & Safety.
• Proven ability to lead talent management, organizational design, and performance management in high-growth environments.
• Experience leveraging Tableau/Excel/Power BI to extract HR insights.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that directly supports engineering, security, and privacy operations roadmaps.
• Act as the primary HRBP for a dedicated global department, managing end-to-end generalist and business partner duties across multiple time zones and cross-functional teams.
• Provide strategic coaching to leaders on organizational design and structuring global teams to adapt to regulatory pressures and security initiatives.
• Advise on talent assessment, career pathing, and succession planning for highly specialized roles within Engineering, Privacy, Security, and Trust & Safety.
• Lead the proactive resolution of complex employee relations issues globally, mitigating risk while preserving a culture of innovation and psychological safety.
• Oversee full-cycle performance management, tailoring goal-setting and calibration to evaluate technical and operational outcomes.
• Leverage people data and analytics to provide actionable insights on team health, retention bottlenecks, and organizational scale.
• Collaborate with global HR peers and CoEs to design customized compensation, engagement, and talent acquisition solutions.
