Job summary

Canonical, the publisher of Ubuntu, is seeking a Graduate HR Generalist to support the APAC region in a remote capacity. You will work globally with colleagues across locations, handling onboarding, HRIS maintenance, payroll liaison, benefits queries, and project ownership in engagement and culture initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a drive for accuracy, and a desire to grow within HR while traveling up to four times yearly for internal events.

Qualifications

• Track record of exceptional achievement from high school and graduate studies.
• Internship experience working in an HR/People team is beneficial, preferably in the Technology industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to prioritize complex workloads, manage time effectively and work well under pressure.
• Self-motivated and results-orientated with a clear focus on accuracy.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and ability to handle confidential data.
• Flexible attitude and easily adaptable to change.
• Willing to take the initiative and provide suggestions and ideas to contribute to the success of the role/team.
• Ambitious to grow your career within HR.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support by answering team members’ questions and onboarding, and handle benefits questions.
• Maintain our HRIS with accurate, timely employee data.
• Own global projects like engagement, training or culture initiatives.
• Partner with managers and employees to support HR processes and people strategy.
• Coordinate onboarding and country-specific documentation for new hires.
• Support enrollment and processing of benefits and payroll data monthly.
• Coordinate payroll liaising with payroll.
• Create purchase orders for internal departments.
• Conduct regular audits of employment files for GDPR compliance.
• Continually improve HR processes.
