Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated in Boston, MA seeks an Executive Director of Portfolio & Program Management to lead global PM efforts across the drug development lifecycle and commercialization. Based in Boston with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote), you will mentor senior directors and drive strategic growth and operational excellence across multiple disease areas.

You will oversee cross-functional teams, align DST strategy with program priorities, and ensure integration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a relevant field.
15+ years of experience, including 7+ years in management, or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, global teams and programs.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership to cross-functional teams across research, clinical, and marketed products.
Lead and mentor Senior Directors and PPM staff across disease areas.
Drive synergies and scalability across disease areas; optimize resource allocation.
Set strategy and oversee decisions for high-priority, complex programs; align with corporate objectives.
Champion organizational design to enable agile, scalable teams and career development.
Represent PPM on governance forums and influence portfolio growth.
Propose and implement process improvements to maximize operational excellence.
Oversee financial and human resource accountability for expanded teams.
