Job summary

Abbott’s Lingo unit seeks an Associate Director of Test Engineering to lead a globally distributed quality engineering team across the U.S., Spain, and India from Alameda, CA. You will own end-to-end testing strategy for mobile apps, biosensor data pipelines, and AI/ML services, shaping a culture of quality and rapid, compliant releases.

You will grow and unify the team, define career paths, and drive shift-left testing while partnering with Regulatory and Legal to ensure FDA, HIPAA, and GDPR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 15 years in software or test engineering, including 5+ years leading and scaling engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale a distributed software test engineering team across geographies.
• Define hiring strategy and operating model to support growth.
• Establish unified quality engineering standards across platforms.
• Oversee test platforms, tooling, and CI/CD integrations.
• Lead compliance activities for regulatory standards (IEC62304, ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820/11).
• Partner with Regulatory Affairs and Legal to align with FDA, HIPAA, GDPR requirements.
