Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Manager, Test Automation to lead and grow a global QA automation team. You will design scalable automation across mobile, backend, and data pipelines, and partner with Engineering, Product, and Data teams to ensure reliable releases.

You will implement robust automation strategies, coach engineers, and drive quality improvements with pragmatic tooling and processes to keep high safety and user experience standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in software quality or test automation, incl 3+ years leading engineers.
• Hands-on with automated test frameworks and infrastructure.
• Experience with mobile automation (iOS/Android) and APIs.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
• Ability to align teams on quality goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead a test automation team across a global, distributed environment.
• Design and evolve automation frameworks for mobile and backend.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD for fast feedback.
• Define automation coverage and release readiness criteria.
• Own test data, environments, and tooling for continuous releases.
• Coach engineers with code reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with biosensor ingest and analytics teams for data integrity checks.
• Support test compliance through auditable automation evidence.
• Promote shift-left quality in design and development workflows.
