Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Global Test Engineering Manager to lead the worldwide test engineering function across NPI and sustaining programs. You will define strategy, standardize platforms, and drive cost-effective test solutions that ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

The role requires deep technical expertise in ICT, functional and system-level tests, plus strong leadership across global sites and EMS partners in a fast-paced utility/energy tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electronics manufacturing test engineering.
• 7+ years of leadership experience managing global teams.
• Experience developing global test strategies and roadmaps.
• Expertise in ICT, Functional, System-Level and Reliability testing.
• Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and fixture design.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive outcomes.
• Strong analytical, communication and decision-making skills.
• Commitment to customer-centricity, collaboration and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global test engineering strategy aligned with product development and manufacturing roadmaps.
• Lead and develop a global team of test, automation, and manufacturing engineers.
• Ensure test readiness across NPI phases from prototype to production ramp.
• Partner with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain for scalable test solutions.
• Drive Design for Test, manufacturability assessments, and risk mitigation.
• Lead problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for test issues.
• Establish global standards for test platforms, fixtures, and automation architectures.
• Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, yield, cycle time, and capital efficiency.
• Enable robust test data collection, analytics, and reporting with factory systems.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness.
• Manage budgets, CAPEX planning, supplier relationships, and external partnerships.
• Influence stakeholders to align test priorities with business objectives.
• Support global manufacturing with safety, quality, and customer satisfaction focus.
• Champion technical excellence and continuous improvement.
