Job description

Hello. We’re Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you

Global Head of Shared Services – Lisbon/Porto
Your Mission

As Head of Shared Services, you will lead Teya's Finance Shared Services function across eight European countries, ensuring operational excellence while driving the transformation of our finance operating model.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Finance Operations at Teya. You'll be responsible for leading our Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll and Finance Systems teams, while designing and delivering the roadmap towards a centralized Shared Services Centre (SSC).

Working closely with the Finance Director, CFO and senior business leaders, you'll balance day-to-day operational delivery with strategic transformation—building scalable processes, driving automation and creating a best-in‑class shared services organisation that supports Teya's continued growth across Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll and Finance Systems across eight European markets.

  • Ensure accurate, timely and compliant finance operations supported by strong internal controls.

  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close alongside Group Finance.

  • Own service delivery, SLAs and stakeholder relationships across multiple countries.

  • Drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency and service excellence.

  • Maintain a robust control environment, ensuring audit readiness and compliance.

  • Manage the Shared Services budget, productivity and cost-to-serve.

Shared Services Transformation
  • Build the business case for creating a centralized Shared Services Centre.

  • Assess current processes, costs, technology and organisational structures across all markets.

  • Design the future Target Operating Model, including governance, process ownership and service catalogue.

  • Standardise and streamline finance processes across countries.

  • Lead automation and finance systems improvements alongside Technology teams.

  • Develop and execute a phased migration strategy that protects operational continuity.

  • Lead organisational change and stakeholder engagement across Finance, HR, Legal and country leadership teams.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Deliver high-quality finance operations that enable the business to scale.

  • Improve efficiency through process standardisation and automation.

  • Strengthen financial controls and governance.

  • Build a compelling business case for centralisation and secure stakeholder alignment.

  • Develop a high-performing Shared Services leadership team.

  • Create a customer-focused service culture across Finance Operations.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Significant leadership experience running Finance Shared Services or multi-country finance operations.

  • Strong expertise across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll and Finance Systems.

  • Proven experience designing, building or implementing a Shared Services Centre.

  • Experience working across multiple European jurisdictions.

  • Strong financial controls, governance and compliance experience.

  • Excellent programme and change management capability.

  • Experience working within fintech, payments, technology or another high-growth international business is highly desirable.

  • Strong ERP, automation and finance systems knowledge.

  • Lean or Six Sigma experience is advantageous.

  • Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
