Job description

Hello. We’re Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you

Your Mission

As Treasury Operations Lead, you will lead Teya's day-to-day treasury operations across eight European markets, ensuring cash moves accurately, securely and efficiently every day.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine operational excellence with continuous improvement. You'll oversee cash and liquidity management, payment and settlement operations, bank connectivity and treasury controls, while leading a team responsible for ensuring Teya's treasury operations scale alongside our business.

Working closely with Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Banking Partners and Finance Transformation teams, you'll strengthen controls, drive automation and build a best-in-class treasury operations function.

Responsibilities
Treasury Operations

  • Ensure all entities remain appropriately funded while optimising cash movements across the Group.
  • Execute, authorise and monitor treasury payments and settlements within agreed cut-off times.
  • Resolve payment exceptions and failed transactions with banking partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Support accurate and timely treasury reconciliations and month-end close activities.
Controls & Governance
  • Maintain and strengthen the treasury operations control framework.
  • Ensure robust segregation of duties, payment security and fraud prevention controls.
  • Maintain compliance with internal treasury policies and governance standards.
  • Support internal and external audits through accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Ensure treasury reporting and reconciliations are delivered accurately and on time.
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Standardise treasury operations processes across multiple European markets.

  • Enhance bank connectivity through Host-to-Host, API and SWIFT solutions.
  • Partner with Finance Transformation and Technology teams to improve treasury systems and straight-through processing.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency as Teya continues to scale.
Leadership
  • Lead, coach and develop the Treasury Operations team.
  • Create a high-performing culture focused on accuracy, service, controls and continuous improvement.
  • Prioritise workloads while supporting the team's ongoing development and capability building.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Ensure payments and settlements are executed accurately and on time across Europe.
  • Maintain strong liquidity management and reliable short-term cash forecasting.
  • Strengthen treasury controls, governance and audit readiness.
  • Increase automation and operational efficiency across treasury processes.
  • Build a scalable treasury operations function capable of supporting Teya's continued growth.
  • Develop an engaged, high-performing Treasury Operations team.
Requirements

  • Strong understanding of treasury controls, payment security, reconciliations and cash management.
  • Experience leading or mentoring treasury operations teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a passion for process improvement and automation.
  • A meticulous, controls-focused approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills with experience partnering across Finance and external banking partners.
