Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Global Head of R&D for EPM to shape the product development strategy and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions in close partnership with the General Manager, Product Manager Lead, and PMO Lead.

You will lead a global R&D organization, foster innovation, and align technology strategy with business objectives while representing Hitachi Energy at industry events and customer engagements as a technology leader.

Qualifications

20+ years in leadership of product or software development.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience leading globally distributed teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Experience engaging with customers and handling escalations.
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making.
Proven budget and resource management experience.
Willingness to travel globally.
Experience in global, matrixed organizations.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the global R&D Product Group including software engineering, testing, and delivery.
Partner with the General Manager, Product Manager Lead, and PMO Lead to deliver high-quality products.
Lead a global R&D organization of ~150 professionals and foster innovation.
Develop and execute R&D strategies aligned with the company's 2030 vision.
Act as the primary technology point of contact for customer escalations and strategic opportunities.
Drive cross-functional collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Lead the development of new products and enhancements across the existing portfolio.
Ensure effective management of R&D budgets, resources, and project priorities.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements as a technology leader.
