Job summary

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Director, Participant Recruitment and Retention, to lead global enrollment strategies across metabolic and liver disease programs. You will shape patient-centric recruitment, engagement, and retention initiatives, partnering with Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, and external partners to accelerate trials while upholding regulatory and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Advanced degree (MS, MPH, MBA, PharmD, or PhD) preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or healthcare industry.
• At least 6 years of leadership experience in clinical trial recruitment, participant engagement, or clinical operations.
• Experience managing large, cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Strong understanding of FDA, ICH-GCP, HIPAA, GDPR, and global clinical research regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Madrigal's enterprise participant recruitment and retention strategy across all clinical development programs.
• Build and implement country- and site-specific recruitment strategies based on epidemiology and feasibility.
• Integrate digital recruitment technologies and patient engagement initiatives into plans.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and others to ensure compliant, efficient enrollment.
• Provide data-driven forecasting, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to senior leadership.
• Partner with patient advocacy organizations to improve trial accessibility and awareness.
