Bio-Rad Laboratories seeks an executive leader to head Global Assay Development in its Clinical Diagnostics Group. The role shapes multi-modality portfolio strategy, governs phase-gate processes, and acts as the senior escalation point for cross-functional technical, quality, regulatory, and supply constraints.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline (required)
• 12+ years of progressive leadership in IVD/diagnostics R&D, including leading assay/reagent development organizations
• Deep knowledge of regulated development and quality systems (FDA QSR/ISO 13485, IVDR/CE) with audit readiness mindset
• Deep technical fluency in molecular assay chemistries and workflows (qPCR/dPCR, NGS, etc.)
• Proven ability to lead globally distributed, cross-functional teams to executive level

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and multi-year investment strategy for the Global Assay Development organization across all modalities
• Own the phase-gate governance framework and quality thresholds across modalities
• Serve as R&D executive sponsor for design-control governance and major submissions/audits
• Set multi-year technology strategy and decide build/partner/licensing options
• Own operating plan, budget, and talent strategy; mentor Sr. Directors; high-risk decisions at portfolio level
