Job summary

CRISPR Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director with deep expertise in external manufacturing and clinical supply management. The role leads CMO/CDMO partnerships, oversees material management and distribution for global clinical trials, and ensures compliant, scalable supply chains across allogeneic and in vivo programs.

Travel domestically and internationally is expected. The candidate will mentor teams, negotiate contracts, and partner with the CMC and Clinical Operations functions

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related scientific discipline.
• 15–20+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, technical operations, supply chain, or process development.
• Fluent in cGMP requirements.
• Experience with third parties and CDMOs for manufacturing operations and clinical supply chain management.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach junior team members.
• Ability to operate in a collaborative, results-driven environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with CRISPR's CMOs and manage manufacturing operations to ensure material supply.
• Oversee all clinical supply activities for trials in allogeneic and in vivo therapeutic areas.
• Manage drug product shipping, labeling and distribution to global clinical sites through a vendor network.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage budget, ensuring purchase requisitions and POs are processed.
• Provide regulatory filing support (IND, BLA) as needed.
• Oversee due diligence for new CMOs and assess capabilities and risks.
• Align objectives with the CMC team and coordinate with clinical operations and other functions.
• Engage in contract negotiations and monitor contract performance.
• Develop strong internal relationships to enable program objectives and scalable supply chains.
• Support fast-paced, data-driven, collaborative culture.
