Job summary

Verkada seeks a Global Sourcing Specialist Intern in San Mateo, CA to support direct sourcing strategy for our hardware product line. You will work with internal teams and external suppliers to handle contracts, costs, BOM, and capex/opex considerations during early product stages.

The role requires on-site presence five days a week and offers an internship path within a fast-growing hardware startup. Data-driven decision-making and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a graduation year of 2027 or 2028.
• Available for a Winter Co-Op starting around January 4th for 4–12 months.
• Available for a full-time (40 hours/week) in-person internship in San Mateo, CA.
• Experience with Excel modeling and simulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to management.

Responsibilities

• Support senior sourcing members with end-to-end hardware sourcing during NPI and MP phases.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts for system level and commodities.
• Find and manage suppliers including relationship management, audits, and onboarding.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new products.
