Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Hardware Compliance Engineer to own the end-to-end safety compliance lifecycle for AWS hardware across data center infrastructure, partnering with product development teams, ODM design partners, test agencies, and legal stakeholders.

In this role you will drive risk assessment, navigate global regulatory pathways, and build scalable processes that enable first-time-certification and timely approvals while shaping the roadmaps for future hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years implementing safety standards in data center environments.
• 4+ years supporting NPI/NPD design for product compliance.
• Experience with international certification and functional safety in machinery.

Responsibilities

• Own safety compliance strategy for NPI and sustaining programs, identifying requirements across global markets and driving certification.
• Partner with hardware development during design reviews to identify safety risks and ensure first-time test pass rates.
• Serve as primary technical interface with NRTLs and Notified Bodies, managing test plans and approvals.
• Perform RCA with ODM partners, define corrective actions, and implement preventative measures.
• Build and maintain a scalable compliance framework with templates, checklists, and process docs for expanding hardware portfolio.
• Develop and track metrics on certification pipeline health, cycle times, and risk areas for leadership communication.
• Stay current on evolving global safety regulations and assess impact on AWS product roadmap.
