Job summary

The Smucker Company invites you to join its Green Coffee Trading leadership team in Orrville as Senior Manager. You will shape trading, sourcing, supplier and origin strategies for a complex global coffee portfolio, balancing risk, cost, quality, and continuity.

You will mentor talent, translate market volatility into actionable decisions, and partner across Planning, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Risk to align demand, supply, and financial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, economics, agriculture, food science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead trading and sourcing strategy for green coffee materials, origins, suppliers, and commercial portfolios.
• Develop and execute origin, supplier, and portfolio strategies to strengthen supply resilience and value.
• Monitor markets, currencies, crop conditions, export flows, logistics, and risks; translate inputs into actions.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, position management, and governance.
• Provide market perspectives, risk assessments, and trade-off decisions for planning and financial outcomes.
• Build relationships with cooperatives, exporters, importers, dealers, brokers, and other partners.
• Identify origin development, supplier capability, diversification, and contingency plans.
• Partner with Planning, Execution, Operations, Quality, R&D, Sustainability, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Risk teams.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives on supply assurance, cost savings, and process improvement.
• Coach and develop Green Coffee trading talent; establish accountability and succession readiness.
• Create standard work and governance to improve decision quality and continuity.
