Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Generator and HVAC Mechanic to perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance on military and commercial generators (3kW–150kW) and HVAC systems used by the U.S. Army.

You will install, remove, and service equipment in fixed and field locations, troubleshoot AC/DC controls, and support environmental control units. This role requires travel and a Secret clearance, with on-site/field work across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 3+ years of related experience or BA/BS plus 2 years, AA/AS plus 4 years, or HS diploma with 7 years experience.
• Technical skills: Diesel generator experience; generator parallel systems and switch gear; brazing copper tubing; evacuating and recharging refrigerant.
• Security clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• Travel: Willing to travel to Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq.
• Role requirements: US passport validity ≥2 years, valid US driver’s license, international driver permit, CRC for deployment.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and services on 3kW–150kW generators and HVAC systems used by the U.S. Army.
• Install and remove generators from fixed or mobile locations; repair AC/DC systems and electronic control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, chillers, and environmental control units (ECUs).
• Maintain all types of commercial power generation equipment and UPS.
• Operate a Load bank during testing.
• Fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
• Work may be in generator shop or field environments.
• Other duties as assigned.
