Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks a strategic supplier management professional to accelerate fusion powerplant development at our Massachusetts facility. You will partner with engineering, R&D and economics teams to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, and contracting in a global tech context.

The role emphasizes building category strategies, risk management, and supporting investors and partners with diligent analysis and transparent reporting.

Qualifications

• Typing, standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends/on-call regularly.
• Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, high voltage and cryogenics.

Responsibilities

• Drive powerplant value engineering, cost reductions, technology selection and increase TRL of fusion hardware.
• Take an active role in techno-economic model development and inputs for future powerplants.
• Provide feedback to R&D and engineering to reduce ARC costs and LCOE.
• Advise on opportunities to acquire companies, develop joint ventures, drive partnerships, and strengthen supply chain readiness.
• Develop category and commodity strategies including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost and market analysis.
• Support customers, sponsors, partners and investors in diligence processes.
