Job summary

Pyka is seeking a deployed flight test engineer to support development and deployments of its autonomous aircraft. You will set up initial missions in different locations abroad and train customers to operate the aircraft.

After a two-month training in Dixon or Victoria Island, CA, you will spend ~50% of time deployed at customer sites for 3-5 weeks, coordinating with Pyka’s teams to ensure safe, reliable flight operations and data-driven testing.

Qualifications

• Experience flying UAVs or manned aircraft preferred.
• Ability to work internationally and travel for weeks.
• Technical knowledge; engineering degree not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to international deployments to support flight testing and customer training
• Maintain operations at customer sites with remote Pyka support
• Recommend features and design changes to the team
• Perform fleet maintenance on aircraft, ground systems and batteries
• Assemble, test and certify airworthiness after shipment
• Serve as PIC or Ground Control Operator for experiments
• Lead or participate in ground and flight test events
• Manage complex logistics for flight operations
