Job summary

Kalitta Air seeks a Flight Maintenance Engineer to provide total line maintenance and technical support for assigned aircraft. The FME travels with the aircraft and reports to the FME Supervisor in the Maintenance department.

Responsibilities include performing terminating and daily checks on B747/B767/B777, ETOPS pre-departure checks, and coordinating with Maintenance Control. US work eligibility and FAA A&P certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• FAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) Certificate required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training desirable.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; report writing and direction to staff.
• Able to use Word, Excel and Outlook for daily work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct terminating service maintenance checks on B747, B767 and B777 aircraft.
• Conduct daily checks on B747, B767 and B777 aircraft.
• Conduct ETOPS pre-departure service checks on B777 aircraft (ETOPS authorisation required).
• Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding the aircraft's condition.
• Accomplish all required servicing and updates of the aircraft.
• Troubleshoot and repair non-scheduled and deferred maintenance defects using the FIM and AMM manuals.
• Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed.
• Maintain a current inventory of the fly-away kits (FAK) and secure tools per weight and balance manual.
• Keep flight and supernumerary areas clean and report supplies needed.
• On international flights ensure garbage and food items are bagged for disposal and disinfect as required.
• Report to line station supervisory personnel when on the ground.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or Maintenance Control.
