Job summary

Eastern Airlines Express is seeking a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician to oversee line maintenance, ensuring FAA compliance and high mechanical standards. The role reports to Maintenance Control with input from the DOM, focusing on efficient, safe upkeep of aircraft and engines in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have an FAA A&P certificate, 3+ years in a Part 121 setting (Boeing 737 Classic preferred), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience three years on commercial aircraft in a Part 121 environment; Boeing 737 Classic experience preferred.
• US work eligibility; valid driver's license and passport.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Monitor maintenance activities and supervise Maintenance Technicians
• Develop and administer technician schedules for those assigned to the station
• Coordinate with HR and payroll on related matters for the technicians assigned
• Provide supervision and perform maintenance activities as required, ensuring manuals are followed
• Assign tasks to technicians under their assignment
• Complete, and provide oversight of technicians to ensure paperwork is completed accurately
• Promote teamwork among maintenance personnel and flight crews
• Maintain workspaces, materials and tooling per policies and housekeeping
• Uphold safety and security procedures and awareness
• Obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed, and other duties as assigned

Role Overview

This is a full-time position reporting directly to Maintenance Control with oversight from the Director of Maintenance (DOM). The responsibilities cover the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the company, involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to its aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high mechanical aptitude, exemplary work ethic, strong knowledge of line maintenance and proficiency in FAA regulations, with excellent communication skills and the ability to exhibit the values and culture of the company in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Licences & Qualifications Required

• a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certificate
• High school diploma, General Education Development (GED) diploma, or higher
• Ability to pass an assessment demonstrating knowledge of line maintenance under Part 121 operations
• Possess and maintain a valid driver's licence, with a driving record from the state of primary residence that meets the company's insurance standards
• Active passport
• Pass a two-year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check (CHRC)
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Experience Three years of experience on commercial aircraft in a Part 121 environment; Boeing 737 Classic experience highly preferred
• Basic avionics knowledge and skill highly preferred
• Ability to occasionally travel to airport or aircraft field locations at little or short notice
• Ability to drive tugs, trucks, lift trucks, snorkel lifts, boom lifts, tractors and other maintenance vehicles, and to taxi aircraft
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
• Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and stoop frequently in confined spaces, and to work in elevated areas
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a team environment
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the internet, and familiar with accessing online aircraft manuals
• Work includes outdoor conditions with seasonal weather; the position requires extremely strenuous physical work, sometimes involving objects in excess of 70 to 100 pounds
