Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston seeks a Director of Global Operations to lead international finance, tax, and compliance across the UK, Ireland, India, and Canada. You will assure accuracy and timeliness of financial operations and serve as the central liaison for cross‑jurisdictional requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in international finance, tax, or accounting with multi‑jurisdictional exposure.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or public accounting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of VAT/GST regimes, transfer pricing, statutory reporting, and international treasury operations.
• Experience with Workday Finance or a comparable ERP system is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities across distributed teams and vendors.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as operational lead for international tax compliance across global entities (tax filings, VAT/GST, withholding, transfer pricing).
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and monitor regulatory developments across jurisdictions.
• Develop and maintain global tax strategy and intercompany pricing policies; manage global compliance calendar.
• Coordinate with payroll, legal, and IT to ensure payroll compliance and data privacy across jurisdictions.
• Oversee entity formation, bank accounts, and Workday configuration for international sites; liaise with legal on corporate governance.
