Job summary

International Thermal Systems LLC in Wisconsin seeks a Field Service Manager to lead a team of technicians and engineers who install, start up, maintain, repair, and service industrial ovens, furnaces, and related thermal equipment at customer sites worldwide.

You will apply mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering principles, coordinate field projects, manage subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, and report to senior leadership on performance metrics and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred.
• 5–10 years in field service, installation, maintenance, or commissioning of industrial equipment.
• 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing field personnel.
• Experience with domestic and international service operations and travel coordination.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems; safety compliant.
• Ability to recruit, train, mentor, and performance-manage a field service team.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage a technical team of field service technicians and engineers.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff; provide development guidance.
• Oversee subcontractors and external partners; ensure quality and safety adherence.
• Establish policies and monitor standards for team performance.
• Ensure accurate reporting of site activities and project milestones.
• Plan schedules, dispatch personnel, optimize travel, and manage resources.
• Oversee installations, startups, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Be primary customer contact; manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Track metrics, prepare reports, and communicate with leadership.
• Promote safety, compliance with OSHA/NFPA/NEC, and continuous improvement.
