Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking a Field Service Controls Engineer in Michigan with ~50% global travel. You will design, program, commission, and troubleshoot advanced industrial machinery, interfacing with electrical schematics and customer teams.

You will work on PLC/HMI systems, read electrical/mechanical drawings, and support machine installation and startup at customer sites worldwide. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and independence are essential in this senior field role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field OR 5+ years of hands-on automation/controls engineering experience.
Experience reading electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting skills with industrial machinery and PLC programming experience.
Knowledge of industrial networking and motion control platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, debug, and commission advanced industrial machinery.
Program and modify PLC and HMI controls systems.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers and project managers during machine development.
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
Perform machine startup, run-off testing, and system validation.
