Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a highly motivated Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to develop and scale civil infrastructure programs for AWS global data centers.

The role focuses on managing fiber construction schedules, vendor oversight, QA, and driving process improvements to ensure on-time delivery. Responsibilities include QA of vaults and conduits, KPI development, cross-functional coordination, and risk management.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
  • 5+ years of construction or project management, or 10+ years in data center or critical environments.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure.
  • Experience with supplier or vendor relationship management.
  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications, or in related PM roles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance of civil infrastructure including vault installations, conduit alignment, pathway diversity, and compliance with AWS standards.
  • Track and report on vendor & GC adherence to construction standards; escalate issues.
  • Monitor civil infrastructure projects approaching milestones and resolve issues to protect delivery dates.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs to measure vendor performance and program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, technicians, and management on a regular basis.
  • Audit completed construction work, document defects, and track remediation to closure.
  • Run meetings, create timelines, and keep teams informed of progress and obstacles.
